David Blackburn is our heart and soul. He envisions every aspect of Tipping Point before bringing it to life. David first aspired to open his own distillery in 2012, and after years of planning and dreaming with his wife Lori, the doors to the Chester Basin distillery opened in 2019.

Since then, we have been providing quality spirits to Nova Scotia and Canadians, and are confident we will continue to create exceptional products for our customers to savour.

We call ourselves Tipping Point Distillers rather than Distilleries, because we believe people come before the process. From our incredible employees to our loyal customers, we aim to bring people together with our crisp spirits and warm spaces.
CHESTER BASIN INSPIRATION.
We find inspiration from the South Shore of Nova Scotia, and are proud to deliver our products straight from the heart of Chester Basin. Our label is inspired by the annual Chester Race Week, one of North America’s greatest sailing events.
Not every distillery has a rum loft -- but we do. We age our rum on site in the loft using white oak barrels for 12 months. Come see for yourself.
